Got home, changed into something cozy and proceeded to watch an episode of House of Cards.
I had been up since 5.30am and was in such a daze. I needed to chill.
The phone rang.
“Tina Brown wants makeup. She will be flying in from DC and home by 6pm sharp,” her assistant Michele “with one L”, said.
The thought of dressing again, customizing and packing a makeup kit to her specifications (very natural, I recalled), then cabbing it over to the opposite side of town was daunting.
But then Tina has always been so fabulous to me.
I was her makeup artist on Topic A with Tina Brown on CNBC.
I consider Tina Brown and Harry Evans two of the loveliest successful people I have ever worked with. Even though Harry was in the midst of writing an article, he brought in a tray, with a fresh pot of brewing tea, milk and sugar and placed it on the dresser in front of the makeup mirror.
The world is spinning faster then ever, but Harry knew, a cuppa would perk Tina up.
They are kindred spirits, kind to one another and nice people.
In less then an hour, I was in cab back home!
